Stealth Hitches Hidden Rack Receiver Installation - 2018 Audi A4- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Stealth Hitch Hitch Receiver on a 2018 Audi S4. Now this is gonna be available in two different configurations. So if you're planning on towing trailer, you do wanna pick up the tow kit as it does give you a ball that you can hook up to your trailer as well as safety chain loops and the wiring for hooking up that plug. Now we just have the standard rack receiver kit and so I'll show you some of the cool features. Now Audi's by nature tend to be a little bit more of a sporty car and they're luxury so you want it to look really good, but adding a hitch to your vehicle also gives you some ways to get your bike racks or cargo carriers around. And the way that this one accomplishes it is having the receiver tube opening be separate from the hitch. more

And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. The cross tube's gonna be completely hidden behind the bumper, so you're only gonna see the receiver tube sticking off the back here. It's a Class I, 1 1/4 by 1 1/4 inch receiver, so it's gonna be great for all of your light accessories such as your cargo carriers and bike racks. Now, I will say some cargo carriers may have a higher carrying capacity than what your hitch is gonna be rated for, so you wanna make sure you don't exceed that on your hitch. more

And this is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. You're only going to be able to see the receiver here, sticking out the back as the rest of it is hidden behind our fascia here. It's a Class 1, 1-1/4 by 1-1/4 receiver, so it's going to be great for very light-duty applications, such as a bike rack with a couple of bikes or an extremely small utility trailer. It uses a half inch hitch pin and clip. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Audi A4, we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, the Draw-Tite Class I Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number: DT24950. So here's what our hitch looks like once we have it installed. The crossbar is gonna tuck up behind the bumper nicely, and all we're really gonna see is the receiver tube sticking out, so it's not gonna take away from our Audi. Now, it is a Class I hitch, which means it's gonna give us that 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" receiver tube opening, which is gonna be great for a lot of different accessories like cargo carriers or bike racks. On the top we have a Draw-Tite Class 1, part number 24830 and on the bottom we have a Curt Class 1, part number C11186. There is really only two differences between the Curt and Draw-Tite hitches that we have here today. Our Curt hitch here has this flange that's welded around the opening of the receiver and it gives it a more finished look. It's not just a square piece of metal that's cut off as you can see on the Draw-Tite. It's just a little bit of an accent that helps give it a little bit more of a classy look. Besides that, our Curt hitch here if we're using it for a non-trailer application, such as a bike-rack or a cargo carrier, it does require the use of a stabilization strap to help support the load. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2011 Audi A4 - Curt- Video

Today on our 2011 Audi A4, we'll be installing the Curt Class One Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C11186. I like the fact that this hitch is hidden behind the bumper cover, nice all the way across. Because this being an Audi, and being a high end vehicle, if you're going to install a hitch on it, you want to have a good look, and a nice appearance, and not have something that's hanging below your vehicle, and is an eyesore. This hitch has a nice high gloss black powder coat finish, so it's stylish, and will give use many years of corrosion and rust free service. Our safety chain loops are right here, underneath the receiver. You can see there are nice big openings here, so we won't have any problem hooking a safety chain around it at all, in any location. We have our standard half inch diameter hitch pin hole here. This hitch does come with an included hitch pin and clip, so you don't have to worry about purchasing one. We have this nice collar welded around the opening of our class one receiver. This helps give it a nice finished look. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Audi A4 - Curt- Video

Today on our 2003 Audi A4 we're going to be installing the CURT hitch, part number 11164. To begin our install we'll first go ahead and open up the trunk, remove the spare tire cover, and anything in the spare tire well. Next we're going to take our hitch, we'll line up the pre-drilled hole in the crossbar above the manufacturer's tow hook. We'll slide it into position, keeping it level and square with the vehicle, then install the manufacturer's 7/16 bolt and spacer block and securing it on top with the 7/16 split lock washer and a 7/16 nut. We'll need to push back the lower bumper fascia a little bit to gain access to it. Now with our hardware in place finger tight I'm just going to use a socket and ratchet along with a wrench to snug it up so that I can adjust the hitch as necessary, again, making sure that we're square and level, then securely tighten it down. Now that we've got our hitch secured in place we'll go ahead and use the hitch as a template to drill out the four attachment points, two on each side, that will go through the hitch into the spare tire well. more
